Who is Bill Efird?

You no doubt have been to training in technical heating and air systems... I'm no different. I earned my mechanical engineering degree from Clemson University.

Like you probably did, I did my time in the Army, as a First Lieutenant, as it turns out. After that I was a dealer consultant for Trane, and then I started and owned Coastal Air Conditioning Service for over 20 years. It was during this time that I developed many of the skills I am teaching you through the JDI system.

I had other opportunities, like forming Service Experts, being the President of Contractors Success Group (CSG) and later International Service Leadership (ISL). All these provided me with opportunities to get better at what I learned as a contractor, like yourself.

I saw a need when I was helping other HVAC contractors run their businesses better. They needed help with the nuts and bolts of how to run a successful HVAC company. From this I wrote a business system we used in our organizations to train heating and air companies. This same system is still used today throughout the industry.

After I retired for a while, I still kept getting calls from contractors needing help. I helped them individually, and conducted a few seminars to assist others. During one of these seminars, I saw a major need for smaller companies to learn practical HVAC business methods. This way they could stay the size they wanted, and be very, VERY PROFITABLE.
